Accidental File Deletions - FREE

Here's a freebie from your friends at Recovery On The Web- since we don't believe in charging for recoveries that can be induced via software.

If you've ever deleted a file on your Windows 95/98/NT/ME PC without a safety net (undelete / goback software) - here's the miracle cure, available at this time for free (it's a shareware product that is registerable beyond the third file recovered).

Head on over to C-Net's Download.com and grab a copy of Revive 3.1 - the terrific program for undeleting files (even if you deleted them in dos and they didn't go to the recycle bin!)

The program is dead simple to use - simply click on the drive where the file was deleted accidentally, and the program will scan the drive for recoverable files. Then, navigate to the directory/folder where the file was located. You'll see the deleted file with the first character missing and a thumbnail icon next to it - indicating the program's predicted rate of success with such files (our experience shows about 99%).

After double-click'ing the file in Revive, you'll be prompted to select the FAT type. For newer systems with larger drives, try FAT2, otherwise choose FAT1. The only trick here is that you can not save the file to the original location - it must be saved to another drive - perhaps a floppy, zip or second hard drive installed in your system.

Still can't get the file back? If it's important - give us a call and we'll estimate the cost for professional data recovery service on your drive.
